Simon Moorhead is a long time producer who has worked in the UK and within the Hollywood Studio System. Simon produced the award-winning feature films Mirrormask, written by Neil Gaiman & directed by Dave McKean and Luna, written & directed by Dave McKean. (Best British Feature Film at Raindance 2014)
Simon started his career in theatre before moving into television where he worked on a number of drama productions and children’s series for the BBC. He has been associated with many award winning projects including A Different Drummer, Jigsaw, Threads, The Life and Loves of a She Devil and the ITV series Chimera.
As a producer he has made films for the likes of the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, National Geographic as well as music videos for Virgin records and commercials for Saatchi & Saatchi, Kodak, Adobe and Eurotunnel.
In 2006 Simon produced the animated stage projections for Elton John’s Broadway production of Lestat, for Warner bros.
In 2017, Simon set up TBC Audio, a production company to create audio drama, promoting writers and actors on the south coast of the UK. The company so far has produced 40+ hrs of drama including The Boleyn Brothers, the story of the West Ham Pals Battalion during WW1, which won Best Audio Drama at the prestigious New York International Radio Programme Awards in 2019.
Last year the audio drama The Other Side of the World, telling the story of the making of Whicker’s World, won the Best Writing award, in New York.
